Shimara Carlow completed a degree in Silversmithing and Jewellery in 2001 and for 4 years moved to London and set up her own jewellery business and workshop. She has since relocated to Melbourne, Australia and works in her own studio.
Being brought up in a remote coastal area in West Cork, Southern Ireland, Shimara was constantly collecting shells, feathers and mermaids purses along the seashore. This childhood fascination of natural forms is what inspires her tactile jewellery. All her pieces are handmade and she uses silver, 18ct gold, silk paper and gum nuts.
The new work Shimara has launched includes "acorn cup cluster", clusters of individual acorn cup units assembled to hang in long articulated chains which adorn the body. Along with a new silver and gold wrap range set with diamonds.
Prices range from £65 - £420
